Whitehorse City Council is one of Melbourne’s largest municipalities located in the leafy eastern suburbs. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified graduate project management officer to join Council’s Major Projects and Buildings Division team. This challenging and rewarding role will see you assist the Project Management team to co-ordinate, organise, and project manage the scoping, design, tendering, construction and hand over of a range of diverse capital building and other projects to achieve sustainable outcomes that meeting quality, time, budgetary and stakeholder expectations.

Specifically you will -
• Assist in the consultation with various stakeholders
• Assist to co-ordinate and project manage the design phase and development of detailed design and tender documentation
• Provide administrative support to assist the tendering and tender bid evaluation process
• Maintain adequate records, documents and correspondence to build a complete audit trail for each capital project undertaken
• Assist to contract manage the construction of buildings and building related capital works projects
• Assist in preparation of financial reports on project progress
• Promote the development and acceptance of Environmentally Sustainable Design practices
• Monitor risk and OHS on site and facilitate the handover process of completed projects

The successful candidate has relevant skills in time management, setting priorities and planning and organising time. A completed or near completed tertiary qualification in architecture, building, construction management or engineering is essential, as are excellent communication skills, an understanding of risk and OHS regulations and responsibilities and proficiency in MS Project and the MS Office Suite.
